430 Kings Road has become one of the most famous addresses in British fashion history from 'Hung On You' in 1967 to Worlds End today. It was from this address at 'Paradise Garage' owned by Trevor Miles from 1970 - 1971, that John and Molly developed a style using collage techniques, drawings, appropriated images and icons that not only captured perfectly the zeitgeist of the period, but had them counting the likes of Iggy Pop, Marc Bolan and Sid Vicious as admirers and customers.
John and Molly's 'Punk' fashion ethos is as cutting-edge, stylish and relevant today as it was then. They continued to sell their iconoclastic designs throughout the 70s from other famous emporiums such as 'Granny Takes A Trip', Kitsch-22 and Boy. A closer inspection soon reveals the extent to which their work has not just been influential but often downright copied.
